One-to-One Coaching in Dubai

an hour that is entirely yours

Private, confidential one-to-one coaching in Dubai, shaped completely around your questions — not a curriculum, not a cohort, not a report to anyone. For professionals who want space to think honestly and leave with something they’ll actually do.

In short

What is one-to-one coaching?

One-to-one coaching in Dubai is a private, confidential conversation between you and an experienced coach, structured around questions rather than advice. The agenda belongs entirely to you. The coach’s job is to help you see your situation more clearly, notice the pattern you’re inside, and decide what to do next.

At Start With You it runs as a single session, a six-session programme or ongoing sessions, in person in JLT or online, with the Strength Deployment Inventory® (SDI®) assessment available when a closer look at your own motives would help. If your focus is leading a team, leadership coaching for managers builds on the same private format.

Reasons people book

What people bring to a one-on-one coaching session

There’s no threshold you have to reach before coaching is worth an hour of your time — even if you’re sceptical of one-to-one coaching.

01

A decision you keep circling

You’ve weighed it privately for weeks and the loop won’t close on its own.

02

A conversation you're dreading

The one you rehearse in the shower and postpone in the calendar.

03

Success that doesn't feel like it

Everything looks right from outside and something is quietly off.

04

A pattern that keeps repeating

Different role, different company, same friction — which suggests the constant is you.

05

A transition you're mid-way through

New role, new country, new life stage, and no time set aside to think about any of it.

06

Confidence that isn't matching your competence

You’re good at this. You just don’t sound like someone who knows it.

How it feels

Direct, warm, and completely unhurried

A one-to-one session is not an interrogation and it isn’t therapy. It’s a properly run hour in which someone gives full attention to your thinking, with no agenda of their own and no stake in the outcome.

I don’t hand out advice, because advice is easy to receive and easy to ignore. Coaching one on one, I can ask the question you’ve been walking around, then stay quiet long enough for you to answer it honestly.

Where it helps, the SDI® assessment adds another layer: what genuinely motivates you, which strengths you overdo, and how you shift through the three stages of conflict. SDI® behavioural profiling often puts words to patterns people have noticed in themselves for years.

Individually we can make a difference, but together we can change the world.

Inside a session

The anatomy of an hour

Sessions are shaped around you, but they tend to move through the same arc.

01 Landing

The first few minutes are for arriving properly.

  • What’s happened since we last spoke
  • What you’d regret not covering today
  • Naming the real topic, which is often not the stated one

Description before analysis, in more detail than you’d give anyone else.

  • Facts separated from interpretation
  • Who else is involved and what they’re likely protecting
  • What you’ve already tried

Where the useful discomfort usually lives.

What you’re protecting or avoiding

  • Where this shows up elsewhere in your life
  • Your motives and overdone strengths, via the SDI® assessment where relevant

Beyond the two you arrived with.

  • Options you dismissed and why
  • How this looks from the other person’s motives
  • What you’d advise someone you respect in the same position

No session ends in the abstract.

  • One specific action before we meet again
  • What might stop you, named in advance
  • How you’ll know it worked

The change happens outside the room.

  • A short written summary if you want one
  • Email access between sessions
  • Next session opens with what actually happened

Getting started

Four simple steps

No forms, no assessment centre, no long onboarding.

01

Discovery call

Book a free 30-minute discovery call to talk about what’s going on and whether coaching is the right tool. You’re under no obligation afterwards.

02

Choose the shape

A single session, a six-session programme, or ongoing sessions as needed. With or without the SDI® assessment.

03

First session

Ninety minutes, in JLT or online. Longer than the rest, because the first conversation covers ground.

04

Continue at your pace

Fortnightly, monthly, or whenever the next thing arrives. You decide the cadence, and you can pause at any point.

Outcomes

The benefits of one-on-one coaching

Not insight for its own sake — a different next week.

The conversation actually had

The one you’d been postponing, held earlier and more cleanly than you expected.

A decision closed

The loop stops running in the background and your attention comes back.

Language for what you want

Clear enough to say out loud to the people who need to hear it.

Boundaries that hold

Availability and workload managed deliberately rather than by exhaustion.

The pattern named

Once you can see it, it stops running you quietly.

Confidence that matches ability

Not louder — steadier, and rooted in something you can point to.

Choosing the right support

Coaching, therapy, mentoring or advice?

All four are valuable. They answer different questions, and starting with the wrong one wastes time.

ApproachCore questionBest whenNot the right fit when
One-to-one coachingWhat do you want, and what’s stopping you? You’re functioning well and want clarity, challenge and accountability. You’re in acute distress or crisis.
TherapyWhat needs healing?Past experiences, trauma or mental-health concerns need proper care. The question is a forward-looking work decision.
MentoringHow did you do it?You want the path from someone who has walked it.You need neutrality rather than a template.
AdviceWhat should I do?The question is genuinely technical and has a correct answer. The block is emotional, relational or about identity.

Ursula doesn’t believe in fixing people, because people aren’t broken. She supports leaders in rebuilding self-trust, creating healthy boundaries, and leading in ways that protect both their energy and their integrity. For her, leadership is not about power or position: it’s about presence, how people feel around you, and the culture you create when no one is watching.

FAQs

One-to-one coaching questions, answered

What happens in a one-on-one coaching session?

You bring whatever is live for you. A session usually moves through three stages: getting the real situation on the table, examining what is driving your response to it, and agreeing one concrete action before we next meet. Most people arrive with a knot and leave with a clear next step.

Some people book a single session on a specific decision. Most work through the six-session programme over roughly three months, which is long enough to change a pattern rather than just discuss it. Others keep ongoing sessions as a standing thinking space. There’s no obligation to commit beyond what you’ve booked.

Completely. Nothing said in a private session is shared with anyone. Where an employer funds the coaching, we agree the reporting boundary in writing first: normally attendance only, never content. If you’re a senior leader weighing decisions you can’t discuss internally, executive coaching for CEOs and the C-suite is built around that level of discretion.

One-to-one sessions give you a private space where the whole agenda is yours, so you can talk openly about people, politics and doubts you wouldn’t raise in a room of peers. Group formats build shared language and let you learn from other people’s experience. If that suits you better, our cohort-based leadership courses work that way.

No. Plenty of people start with nothing sharper than a sense that something isn’t working, or that they’re succeeding at something they no longer want. The first conversation turns that into something workable. If it turns out to be a question about your next role, career coaching for professionals at a crossroads may be the better fit.

Yes. Online sessions follow the same structure as in-person work and suit people who travel, work irregular hours, or live outside Dubai, elsewhere in the UAE or abroad. In-person sessions are held at our office in Jumeirah Lake Towers, and early-morning and evening slots are available for people working full days.

Rates are shared on request. Sessions are available individually or as a discounted six-session programme, with the SDI® assessment as an optional addition. You’ll hear current rates on the free discovery call, along with an honest view of how many sessions your situation is likely to need. For wider context, see our guide to executive coaching costs in Dubai.

The discovery call exists partly to establish that. If what you’re facing would be better served by therapy, mentoring, technical advice or something practical, I’ll say so and point you in a useful direction rather than book you in.
